Through the Stronger Roots programme, I work with nonprofit organisations across a wide range of fields, from healthcare and foster care to environmental initiatives, education and community development.

My role is to help organisations better understand how they communicate, how they are perceived and how communication can support their long-term goals. Depending on the situation, this may involve communication audits, strategy development, identity refinement, mentoring, workshops or practical support with implementation.

What I enjoy most about this work is the opportunity to enter unfamiliar environments and quickly understand the challenges organisations are facing. Every organisation operates within a different context, but many communication challenges are surprisingly similar. Over the years, I have learned that effective communication is rarely about doing more. It is often about doing fewer things with greater clarity, consistency and purpose.

Working with Stronger Roots has strengthened my belief that communication should not be treated as a separate discipline. It should be integrated into leadership, organisational culture and decision-making from the very beginning.
